Talking about energy is talking about the future of Spain. The configuration of the energy mix shapes the country’s ability to guarantee a stable and affordable supply, to gain competitiveness, and, in doing so, to move toward strategic autonomy. Today, in a context of global uncertainty, it is essential to analyze how to produce, distribute, and consume energy in the coming decades and, above all, to understand that the decisions made will define the industrial, environmental, and social development of tomorrow.
Conscious that this debate is unavoidable and must be addressed with rigor and a broad perspective, Agenda Pública has launched its new dedicated section Energy and Industry. The debut of this editorial venture took place in Madrid, with a concise session on the future of nuclear energy. Among the experts and institutional representatives were the PSOE’s Energy spokesperson in the Senate, José Antonio Valbuena; the PP’s Energy spokesperson in the Congress, Juan Diego Requena; former minister and adviser to Agenda Pública Jordi Sevilla; the nuclear industry worker and public educator Alfredo García —known on Twitter as @OperadorNuclear— or the specialist in regulation and energy transition Pedro Fresco.
