Agenda Pública Joins the Alliance Between beBartlet and The European House-Ambrosetti to Boost European Competitiveness

July 17, 2026

Health is not a sector policy, but a central vector for contemporary societies: both from the social perspective, given the impact of population aging on the welfare state, and from the industrial perspective. Industrial policies, regulation, supply chains, and the financing of innovation will be the protagonists of the European Health and Competitiveness Symposium that will be held on November 27 at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona.

The recent Draghi and Letta reports have evidenced that strategic autonomy and competitiveness against powers such as the United States and China will define the agenda for the coming decade. Currently, although science originates in Europe, its funding, commercialization and scaling are increasingly taking place outside the continent. Agenda Pública will share with our reader community the conclusions, analyses and main conversations that arise from this initiative.

“The European Health and Competitiveness Symposium is born to respond to this reality, articulating a space where the industry can anticipate the debate and participate in it”

The European House-Ambrosetti (TEHA), the most important private think tank in Italy; beBartlet, the leading public affairs cabinet in Spain; and Agenda Pública, as media partner, promote the European Health and Competitiveness Symposium, which is created to respond to this reality, articulating a space where the industry can anticipate the debate and participate in it. This is announced today, at the beBartlet headquarters in Barcelona, by Marta Ortiz, director of TEHA-Ambrosetti in Spain; Nacho Corredor, partner and vice president of beBartlet; and Marc López Plana, director and editor of Agenda Pública, alongside the Secretary of State for Health, Javier Padilla, who confirmed his participation in the forum. Also confirmed to participate, among others, are S&D Member of the European Parliament Nicolas González Casares; Imperial College London Professor of Health Systems Sciences Helena Legido-Quigley; and Tomas Zapata, head of the Human Resources for Health and Health Services Unit of the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

The European House-Ambrosetti is the Italian reference in knowledge production and organizes every year the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, on Lake Como. In the last edition five European commissioners participated and there were up to thirteen governments represented. Ambrosetti has more than half a century of history as a center of knowledge production at the European level and is one of the leading actors in shaping the European agenda. BeBartlet, as Spain’s leading public affairs cabinet, drives strategic windows aimed at promoting public and social transformations and leads data-driven projects in support of companies, mainly in the European Union and the United States.

Barcelona, scientific capital of Southern Europe

The central day of the European Health and Competitiveness Symposium will be held on Friday, November 27, 2026 at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona. The choice of this city responds to its consolidation as one of the main biomedical hubs of Southern Europe and as a focus for attracting scientific talent and investment. The format is designed to foster the direct exchange of diagnoses and proposals between European and national institutional leaders and the strategic actors of the sector.
