Public activity in Sarpsborg

ACTIVISM. The Nordic Resistance Movement held a public activity in the centre of Sarpsborg, Norway, on Saturday 18th July, following the murder of an elderly woman by a Somalian.

On the night of 14th July, a Somalian went berserk with a knife and killed an elderly woman in Sarpsborg, as well as injuring two other women. In response, the Nordic Resistance Movement held a public activity on Sarpsborg town square.

Activists and members from the Resistance Movement’s Nest 1 gave out a large number of leaflets, as well as talking to people on the streets. Apart from a couple of negative reactions, most of the people they met were positive.

The police showed up after about 45 minutes. They saw that everything was going calmly and peacefully, so they went back and sat in their van.

After about two hours, when the activity was about to end, the leader of the Alliance party, Hans Jørgen Lysglimt Johansen, came by to greet the activists after having held a small commemoration of his own for the woman who died in the attack.

Earlier in the week, Nest 1 also put up a large number of posters with the message “White Lives Matter” in Sarpsborg in response to the attack.
