Two years after its inception, the BEKANE Media group, the main shareholder of Agenda Pública, begins a new growth-oriented phase with decisive involvement in Agenda Pública, the leading Spanish outlet for public policy analysis; the new The New Madrid Post, Madrid’s good-news magazine, or the new audiovisual production company Pausa Para Publi.
In the last two years, since BEKANE Media joined Agenda Pública, the media’s size in terms of readers and revenue has tripled, developing a differentiated offering for a qualified audience, especially in Madrid, Barcelona and Brussels. “A differentiated niche space has been consolidated with a community of readers with varied perspectives, and the structure has been built to develop a space of influence from Spain in the global public debate, specialized in analysis, providing context and interpretation tools for an increasingly complex reality and connecting the relationship between local and global politics,” notes Arnau Pérez Valero, the new CEO of BEKANE Media.
Agenda Pública has been received during this period by the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa; the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, or the mayors of Madrid and Barcelona, José Luis Martínez-Almeida and Jaume Collboni, respectively, as well as by other European figures such as Romano Prodi, Nadia Calviño, European commissioners, or more recently, in an audience at the Palacio de la Zarzuela, by King Felipe VI.
Pérez Valero will be proposed in the coming weeks as vice president of Agenda Pública, representing BEKANE Media. “We are accelerating our European growth phase,” said Marc López Plana, editor and director of Agenda Pública: “We are a Spanish media outlet whose growth will come from our impact outside of Spain. Because Spain must develop a vision of Europe and the world, and because Spaniards must have a stance regarding Europe and the world,” he concludes.
“After a two-year phase of construction and launch, we are now entering a phase aimed at the group’s sustainable growth”, Pérez Valero points out. The new executive brings more than a decade of experience in the consulting field, having worked in public institutions such as the Ministry of the Presidency and in the private sector, at companies like LLYC and after a recent stint at one of the world’s leading startups.
From Madrid to television
Moreover, the new audiovisual production company Pausa Para Publi, led by producer and music promoter Miquel Fernández, will develop content especially in the television arena and in line with BEKANE Media’s founding objective of investing in companies that contribute knowledge, judgment and context, generating content that will also enable synergies with the group.
