The Leader of the Nordic Resistance Movement Simon Lindberg delivered a defiant speech at the Kohti vapautta (Towards Freedom) march in Helsinki on 6 December. Listen to the audio below.
The Towards Freedom march is an annual event that takes place in Helsinki on Finland’s Independence Day. This year’s gathering drew 450 National Socialists including members of the Nordic Resistance Movement from neighbouring countries.
The 2018 march had an extra significance as it was held just nine days after the Nordic Resistance Movement had been officially banned in Finland on 27 November.
As such, Simon’s speech conveyed a strong message of defiance. This was encapsulated when he proclaimed: “They can ban us, they can put us behind bars, they can kill us, but they can never stop us because our people shall live and National Socialism shall prevail!”
