Are demonstrations meaningless? No!

0

OPINION. In this article originally written in the run-up to the Nordic Resistance Movement’s “Revolt against the Traitors” demonstration in Gothenburg on 30 September 2017 – Martin Saxlind addresses those who are sceptical towards demonstrations.

Nordic Resistance Movement May Day march in Falun

Some do not understand why demonstrations are relevant. Demonstrating can be perceived as old fashioned and ineffective – these days we should be reaching out with our message on the internet instead, some say.

Going out on the streets entails certain risks, and arranging a demonstration demands resources. It takes an enormous number of man hours to plan and market a demonstration, and it costs a lot of money to procure the proper equipment (flags, shields, communication devices, functional clothes etc.) as well as transporting people to and from the event.

Many of those who are sceptical towards demonstrations are intelligent types, and it doesn’t help to lecture them about the importance of courage and street fighting. The intellectuals just respond that “metapolitics” is the only meaningful form of political activism, and look down on more activist-minded people.

I myself think it can be a little intellectually shallow when people are content to say that demonstrations are important because they allow us to “stand up for our views” or “take the fight to the left-wing extremists”. When you argue on that level, you assume your opponent in the discussion understands what you mean and agrees that it is of importance, which isn’t always the case. Thus I would like to provide a little more depth to the argumentation and explain the fundamentals of why demonstrations are important.

Theory versus reality

The problem with those who think demonstrations are meaningless is that they have a theoretical outlook that doesn’t hold up under closer examination. If people really were completely rational beings, it would be sufficient to present convincing arguments and facts on the internet to win over all our countrymen to our cause, but clearly it isn’t that simple.

The truth is on our side, but people are not “rational individuals” who automatically seek the truth. Man is essentially a herd animal, and we Nords especially have a problem with excessive conformity when we are scared of being excluded from society.

Social experiments also prove that many people consciously lie to fit into a group, even when it comes to totally meaningless and uncontroversial matters. This is why the election-meddling media are so obsessed with opinion polls – because by reporting which politicians and parties are popular or unpopular, they exert a groupthink that influences the individual reader and how he will vote.

But figures are still abstract and “unnatural” and therefore do not have such a strong impact in and of themselves. This means the human mind does not visualise all the people who liked an anti-immigration post on Facebook, or the hundreds of thousands of people who voted for the Sweden Democrats. It’s different with demonstrations – they speak to us in another way.

This photo says more than an anti-immigration post on Facebook with thousands of likes, or an article with a long list of references

Demonstrations humanise an ideology by putting faces to its supporters. Demonstrations are also manifestations of strength.

In precisely the same way that many people feel uneasy when they walk past an immigrant gang, our opponents feel discomfort when they see our demonstrations. This isn’t because they are scared of being subjected to violence, as journalists and left-wing extremists lie about in order to mobilise violent counter-demonstrators against us. The uneasiness is actually due to the fact that our views, our engagement and our conviction – conveyed via a powerful demonstration – are very tangible and difficult to suppress or dismiss. This shows that the psychological impact of demonstrations is much stronger than other forms of propaganda.

For the participants, a demonstration is also often an emotionally powerful experience that is difficult to attain via other forms of political activism. And emotions are necessary to keep fighting spirit and motivation high. A feeling of community and strength is needed as a counterbalance to all the defeatism our enemies attempt to infect us with.

Demonstrations are also an activity everyone can participate in, whereas not everyone can pursue more intellectual matters, as they either do not have time or lack the capacity for them. As such, demonstrations are a way to ensure the nationalist movement doesn’t become a closed intellectual club, but rather a true popular movement where all are welcome and can become active.

There is a difference between observing politics from a distance and sympathising with others’ struggle on the one hand, and living politics and being a part of the struggle yourself on the other. A person who openly takes part in demonstrations forms a stronger bond with his views and will generally fight more fanatically for victory than a person who is not as open about his views.

Unfortunately the Left understand all this better than nationalists sitting on the internet. The extreme Left also act rationally and purposefully from this understanding when they decide to focus on harassing “organised fascists” and making them leave the movement. Not even the civic nationalist Folkets demonstration (The People’s Demonstration), which had a completely inane political message, was left in peace by the Left – because politically incorrect gatherings are a threat to the Cultural Marxist hegemony.

The “Revolt against the Traitors” demonstration in Gothenburg

By counter-demonstrating and creating chaos, the Left want to scare people away from participating in our demonstrations and give the public the impression that our views are controversial and problematic. With this in mind, some battles that can’t be won should perhaps be avoided. For example, Pegida and the Swedish Defence League previously held some embarrassing attempts at demonstrations and public meetings that were poorly attended and thus made them appear like oppressed victims of bullying, which is not a good image to have. But as long as you can get a respectable number of demonstrators on the streets and guarantee their safety, it doesn’t matter if the counter-demonstrators have higher numbers.

If an organisation is not publicly visible, it won’t occupy a place in the consciousness of the populace and will not be able to influence people’s opinions. That’s why the Left don’t just want us off (((Facebook))) and other big social media sites, but also off the streets. If demonstrations really were meaningless, then left-wing extremists and liberal journalists would not react with such hysteria and hate every time we arrange one.

All methods are needed

There is no fundamental conflict between street activism and internet activism or other intellectual activities. Both aspects are needed and work in unison with each other: Effective opinion-shaping on the internet mobilises more people to come to our demonstrations, while successful demonstrations create an increased interest in our ideas and strengthen the conviction of those who attend them, as well as that of more passive supporters.

This is not a complicated conclusion to draw, and in reality many of those who are opposed to demonstrations are likely so because of their own cowardice or laziness. Of course one cannot demand that all sympathisers turn up to a demonstration, and there are other ways to contribute to the struggle, so I’m not condemning everyone who doesn’t participate. However, one can at least ask that those who don’t want to take part in demonstrations do not attempt to rationalise their own laziness by questioning their necessity in general.

Public activism on Sweden’s west coast

ACTIVISM. On Saturday 27 July, activist group 203 were on the streets of Henån, in the Orust district of western Sweden, for a public activism session.

Under glorious sunshine, the activists positioned themselves beside two different shops and got the activity underway. As usual on the west coast in summertime, there were a lot of people out and about.

A number of discussions were had, including one with a Danish couple who thought democracy was fantastic and that there’s only one race (“the human race”). Apart from that, there were more positive than negative comments, and many leaflets were given out.

After close to two hours, the activity was concluded, and the activists went for a swim in the sea.

All in all it was another successful day in service to the struggle!

Nest 2 on hiking adventure – from an English nationalist’s Perspective

SOCIAL ACTIVITY. In July, members of Nest 2 met up for a couple of days’ hiking, fishing and socializing in the Swedish woods. This article is written by a member who was born and recently lived in Great Britain. This is his perspective as a new member and, more interestingly, as a foreigner.

There’s a certain irony in having to come to a foreign country in order to be a nationalist. And being a foreigner in a nationalist group, I was certainly expecting a bit more scepticism regarding my involvement. But, on the contrary, I’ve instead been welcomed in with open arms, thanks partly to me already having friends within the movement, no doubt.

But when I was asked if I wanted to join a few members of the nest on a hike through the woods, I had no boots, no hiking bag, no supplies, and no money to get any. I would obviously be a complete lunatic to agree to come along. So of course, I agreed to come along without hesitation.

When we arrived in the beautiful Swedish woodlands, our group leader pointed out a spot on the map that we could set up camp, start a fire, and possibly even fish. So the hiking began immediately. It was all a bit of a blur, taking in the new sights as we marched our way down to our destination.

Along the way, I was absolutely awestruck at the views. I had never seen anything that could compare to this beautiful country. As we looked out from the mountain over onto the lake, I thought that I was dreaming. For an Englishman like me, used to an overcrowded island with miserable weather all year round, seeing the glistening blue lake from the top of the mountain was like something you would see on the back of a postcard, not something you would expect to see in real life.

In my country, we have what are called “Green Belts,” which are legally protected areas of natural land around cities, that are not allowed to be built on or destroyed. And now, in Manchester for example, our own government has illegally stripped back a third of the Green Belts and built new homes for migrants. This is happening across the entire country, as Britain becomes more and more overcrowded.

But if you were to bring up this point with a leftist, a so-called “environmentalist,” then they don’t want to discuss it. The natural ecosystem that they claim to be some kind of vanguards for, they themselves are destroying in order to build homes for the racial strangers they’re bringing into our country.

While I know that Sweden is obviously not in the same conditions right now, due to it being a large country with a relatively low population, that will change. Your country will go the way of Britain, and destroy its own beautiful landscapes in order to house their pet immigrants. And after seeing the beyond beautiful views in Sweden, I understand more than ever that it cannot ever be allowed to happen.

One particular view that will stay in my mind until the day I die was, after two days of hiking, fighting a nearly constant uphill struggle in the hottest heat I have ever been in, our group leader pointed out that there was an island in the middle of the lake we were heading towards. There was a cabin on that island that we might be able to stay in, so we marched from the top of the hill down to the lake, and found the island. There was a boat by the side of a small pier that was for hire, so we rented out the boat and the cabin for the night, then made our way across the lake. The little rowing boat couldn’t fit us all in, so we went a few at a time. We then walked up to the little cabin, and decided to try and catch some fish.

A few hours pass, and our fishing was unsuccessful, but we had a few things to eat, so we tucked in. We spent the remainder of the night whittling away at pieces of wood to make spoons, and sitting by the fire.

Looking through this great, glorious fire and out onto the crystal clear lake, as the moon rose up in the sky, and was perfectly reflected in the water.

Sat there, with men I now know that I can call my brothers, talking about the history of our countries, and where said histories overlap. Having a laugh, joking, but most of all, looking out onto this lake from our little island. It was like the world was ours. On that little island, there were no “modern problems.” There were no racial strangers (unless you want to count an Anglo and an American, but that’s a debate for another time), and there were no banks or shopping centres or police harassing us, nothing. It was only us. For a short while, basking in the pure white glow of the beautiful moon, we had an island to ourselves. That island, for all intents and purposes, for the duration of the time we were its inhabitants, was its own nation. Our nation. A true National Socialist land in the middle of the woods. Standing in front of that fire under that moon, I have never felt closer to my ancestors. And there was something surreal about being in Sweden, looking out across a clear lake, with other National Socialists, talking about what brought me to Sweden, and what brought me to the movement in the first place.

While gathered around the fire, we spoke about the state of my country, and of British Nationalism as a whole. I feel that it’s good to talk about nationalist movements in our home countries. What they get right, what they get wrong, and how we can learn from that going forward.

Unfortunately, there was not a lot of positives to discuss regarding modern British nationalism. With the BNP (British National Party) becoming more anti-Islam than pro-white, and the inward collapse and split of the group because of it, we eventually ended up with the EDL (English Defence League) becoming the “forefront” of the British right wing. Unfortunately a bunch of racial strangers and zionists. And there’s a reason for that, but that’s another story.

And, going back to the hike, what the Nordic Resistance Movement (NRM) also has is brotherhood and unity, not just on a group-wide level, but within the nests and within the groups and individuals. Never before have I been able to so quickly call someone my brother. During the course of the hike, we came to rely on one another constantly. While we all had our own bags, there was also another shared bag that we would rotate between every 20 minutes. Doesn’t sound like much, but it quickly became difficult when climbing up the steep terrain. We all had to do our bit and heave it along, and none of us got off easy. It may sound like something small, but sharing that burden meant we had to work as a team no matter what.

When we went out fishing, we took it in turns to row the boat out into the lake.

Eventually, after a few days carrying that weight everywhere with us, up the steep and challenging terrain, under constant assault from bugs and from the burning sun on our backs, we decided to use a stick, that we had originally whittled into a spear, in order to carry the bag on our shoulders between the two of us at a time. And while we had the space on the gravel roads, we could use two of these quasi-spears and four of us could carry it together.

It kept us marching at the same pace. And when the two of us at the front decided we wanted to sprint up the hill, that was exactly what we would do. It kept us tight and unified, and reminded me very much of my time doing weighted marches in the British Army, only these truly meant something. It’s one thing to run uphill with weight, struggling with every step, because you and your co-workers with you are being ordered to. But it’s another thing entirely to summon up the strength, after days hiking up and down hills and mountains, and voluntarily run at full pelt with your brothers. You’re coughing and spluttering and you feel like shit the whole time, but it’s the collective struggle that makes it worth it. Not only was it helping keep us fit, but suffering through hardships as a team, no matter how small, help build those bonds.

When two of us had exhausted our food supply save for some dried granola, and our stomachs were being wracked by the terror of some horrific canned beans that we had both eaten, we realised that our lack of money and lack of preparation meant that we had at least two full days of pure suffering. But, when other members of our group gave us their spare MREs that they had brought, we had found salvation. Reindeer stew, chicken tikka and chilli con carne between the two of us. A small feast, but having eaten very little in the previous days, we wolfed it down like there was no tomorrow.

And was moments like that when we knew we could count on the men by our side to help pull us through tough times. They were under no obligation to help us, and we in our pride would never have asked, but they noticed we were hungry and they helped us out because of it.

Eating MREs with our carved spoons, sat outside our camp and the lads came up with some games to teach us some Swedish. They were hit and miss in terms of actually teaching us anything, but they were fun, and we certainly appreciated the effort. And all this for men who had been, up until this point, not only strangers but foreigners. But being National Socialists, that bond of brotherhood outweighed anything else.

It is a point of pride that I can call myself a member of a movement that has brotherhood so tightly interwoven within its fabric. If the movement itself were to suddenly no longer exist, then the bonds that hold us together as brothers and as National Socialists would rebuild it near instantaneously. For us, we are motivated by our blood, our cause, and more often than not, our Gods. Our enemies are motivated by money and money alone, and that is quickly running dry. For us, it is an honour to bleed for our race, and our brothers. For them, no such idea exists. They will break before we do. When all that binds groups like antifa is their hatred for us, then they have no foundation. They have no brotherhood. Because if antifa didn’t exist, then we would still be National Socialists. But if National Socialism ceases to exist, antifa wouldn’t have anything to do. Their “brotherhood” and “comradeship” is built on something that they themselves claim to be transient, which is us.

Our group, sat around an open fire on an island in the middle of the lake, whittling spoons from pieces of wood that were lying around. Looking out onto the beautiful pale waters as the sun set in the sky. It was absolutely breathtaking. And the men there sharing that view with me, while I may not have known them for long, they were then and are now my brothers. In those moments I knew beyond all doubt that I would take a bullet for any of them, and be proud to do so. Those are the bonds that will make us unshakeable when the time truly comes. We will be rocks against which the enemies waves will crash, and we will be unmoved.

And these hikes, and nest days, and all activities that may seem trivial to some, are all incredibly important. I have not known any movement with this kind of internal activism, that keeps its members on their toes and interacting with one another. So I implore anyone who is less engaged with these activities, please attend more and more. These small steps are what turn groups into organisations, and the NRM understands that.

The NRM has the ability to learn from the mistakes of other groups and movements, and constantly adapt to go forward without compromising any of its ideology or beliefs. The fact that I myself have been able to drop everything in my home country and move here to become part of it shows something very promising for the future. It could well be the beginning of a new era for the NRM, in which we as a movement spread all throughout Europe, or recruit members from those different countries.

But I can only speculate. The point is, the NRM is proving time and time again that it is capable of rolling with whatever punches the modern world throws at it, while remaining uncompromising in its beliefs. And that, I think, is real hope for the future of Europe, and the future of our race.

The struggle for our people is a marathon race

0

OPINION. Jimmy Thunlind shares his view on the way the struggle must be waged in order to reach our ultimate objective – a National Socialist Nordic Nation.

Not being a keen sportsman myself, some might think it strange that I choose to employ a sports metaphor in this text. However, I believe our struggle for a National Socialist North has many interesting parallels with the mental attitude required by a long-distance runner, and that this comparison can be an instructive one.

Succeeding in our struggle requires that we have a strong vision and a clear objective we want to attain. We must be convinced that we will achieve our objective, and we need to make all necessary efforts and preparations to be able to succeed.

It would be unrealistic to expect the struggle to be decided after a hundred metres, and to exhaust all energy and resources in a short-sighted venture. This would run the risk of our ever making it to our stated goal, or simply cause us to leave the struggle, dejected and burned out.

Instead the struggle demands long-sightedness, planning and endurance; it demands we be strong mentally and ideologically, and that we do not let ourselves be distracted by events around us or black-pilled naysayers.

The struggle requires that we live as National Socialists: that we make sensible choices in everyday life, that we contribute to the national community by supporting and encouraging our comrades, that we spread our positive message – not just via occasional official demonstrations or activities – but also privately to friends, at the workplace and on social media, that we fulfil our commitments within the National Socialist movement, and – last but not least – that we look after our loved ones and give our children a healthy, positive upbringing.

The struggle demands self-sacrifice and courage; it demands we be prepared to encounter resistance and adversity, and that we do not allow these to blind us to our ultimate goal.

The struggle requires humility – that we admit when we make mistakes, that we must sometimes make adjustments to our course, that we are not in possession of an incontrovertible “truth” in all matters, and even though all our comrades do not always reach the same conclusions and make the same choices as we do, that they are still our beloved kinsmen who fight for the same purpose.

The struggle requires loyalty, a quality that has become all too rare in the Zionist-indoctrinated world – loyalty to our people, loyalty to National Socialism as a concept and system, loyalty to our comrades, to our wives or husbands, and to the organisation which – via fanatical struggle – has led us to where we are today.

A balanced and focussed struggle will encompass a whole spectrum of activities, which will naturally vary from person to person depending on circumstances: studying, exercise, meetings, nature excursions, hobbies, social gatherings, propaganda distribution, spectacular and “autonomous” activities, expeditions, prepping, self-sufficiency, neighbourhood organising – everything imaginable that can forge us into optimistic fighters for our ultimate goal.

The struggle will never be won via irrelevant criticism of comrades, division or a sectarian mindset of chosenness or exclusion. Neither will an undermining of trust or questioning of dedicated comrades’ motives lead us a single step closer to our objective.

Our (((enemies))) are determined to stop our struggle and destroy our white race. They have already come a long way by successfully pacifying and brainwashing large swathes of our people into not offering any resistance. They have taken over our economy, our parliament and our courts of law. They have orchestrated a swift and ruthless racial replacement of our people. They have vitiated the people’s natural morals via the homo lobby and increasingly decadent, agenda-driven entertainment, et al.

Our (((enemies)))’s methods have always been those of subversion, conspiracy, lobbyism, defamation and lies. They are methods which every true National Socialist must shun like the plague and rise above by embodying the Aryan virtues: Strength, Honour, Loyalty, Duty and Comradeship.

Our fight for our people’s future is long from over. It is no hundred-metre race. It is a marathon in which only those who act wisely and with foresight will reach the finish line. And we will achieve our objective. There is no doubt about it. There is no alternative.

Banner activism in Mariestad

ACTIVISM. Activists from Nest 2 in Sweden recently visited Mariestad and displayed banners with sound messages.

Banners reading “Crush the Homolobby” and “Stop the genocide”

On Saturday the 27th of July, comrades from activist group 204 visited Mariestad where they placed two banners on either side of a bridge near the city for maximum visibility. Many drivers waved agreeably towards the comrades holding the banners as they drove by, but there was someone who didn’t appreciate the presence of the Resistance Movement.

In a display of utter stupidity, a maniac drove his wheel loader up the bridge, towards the extreme narrow passage where the comrades were standing, in what everyone thought was an attempt to run them over. Suddenly, however, the driver stepped on the gas and dropped the excavator scoop on the ground.

The idiot driver turned around and tried to do the same trick once more, but the comrades did not back up but ran instead towards the vehicle, which caused the audacious driver to panic and drive away from the bridge in a hurry. No people were hurt or vehicles damaged during the stunt.

The activity continued for some hours and the day was concluded with a meal.
