“No to Nato” – Bridge action in a snow-covered Stockholm

ACTIVISM. On Saturday 25 March, Sweden’s Nest 1 held a banner action in Stockholm against the recent parliamentary vote in favour of Sweden joining Nato.

“The same forces now as then. No to Nato. Death to globalism!”

During a relatively cold start to the weekend, with spring snow, the comrades gathered at their regular “NS bridge” above the motorway next to Skogskyrkogården. Spirits were high despite the weather conditions, which had shifted from a mild climate with brilliant sunshine to snow and minus-degree temperatures in less than 48 hours.

The action was in response to a vote on joining Nato by the traitors in the Riksdag just three days prior, which passed by a huge majority and cemented Sweden’s involvement in the multinational war alliance. Even the Sweden Democrats, who many nationalists still vainly believe will save Sweden, voted for Nato membership.

The same banner that was used during the successful flash demonstration in Stockholm was employed again here on a bridge above a central motorway into the capital, in view of thousands of drivers.

Maybe it was the message for the day, or maybe it was the Resistance men’s dedication year in and year out on this very bridge that paid off, but the reactions from the drivers were almost exclusively positive. There were loads of beeps from cars under the bridge, while some drivers stopped in the middle of the road to photograph the banner. Others were so happy that they let go of the steering wheel entirely to emphatically give two thumbs-up at once.

The police were conspicuous in their absence on the day, and the activity could proceed free from harassment. After the comrades had stood on the bridge in both hail and blizzard long enough for many thousands of drivers to see the message, the banner and flags were rolled up and the activity was concluded. Everyone was thanked for their participation and headed home, strengthened by the people’s positive reactions!
