ACTIVISM. The Resistance Movement was at Sjöbo Market in southern Sweden in July to distribute leaflets to visitors.

The small Scanian town of Sjöbo hosts an annual market that attracts around 100,000 visitors each year, according to the municipality’s figures. Dating back to 1864, the market features the typical retail stalls, food outlets and carousels. The Resistance Movement was there to distribute leaflets, initially lining up at one of the entrances to the market.

Next, the group headed into the market itself, continuing to hand out leaflets to the visitors, who were mostly positive. Some discussions occurred during the day, with many people being sympathetic and some eager to join. The most negative people were a couple of teenage girls who wanted to argue, but their opinions were responded to patiently by the Resistance men. It can be quite sad to hear young people talk in a self-destructive way so eagerly, repeating all the platitudes they have been taught, but it’s to be expected due to the constant indoctrination they’re subjected to. At any rate, the girls deserve credit for attempting a discussion – an attitude that could lead them to see reason in the future.

Overall it was a pleasant and largely White event, where the Resistance Movement could conduct the activity as planned and hand out all their leaflets.
