Warm welcome for Sweden’s Nest 2 at classic car show in Lidköping

ACTIVISM. The Resistance Movement recently held a popular banner action and leaflet distribution at the spring Power Big Meet car show and swap meet in Lidköping.

On Saturday 26 March, a public activity was organised by Sweden’s Nest 2 in Lidköping municipality. The comrades met up at 1 p.m. at Lidköping Arena, where a large gathering was taking place in connection with a well-reputed classic car show. As soon as the activists arrived, they were given a warm welcome with handshakes and words of praise from a group of guests at the event.

The spring sun was high in the sky, and the atmosphere on the ground was buzzing. Amid the huge throng of people and vehicles, a large amount of intoxicants were being consumed, while well-maintained cars playing patriotic music and decorated with Swedish flags circulated around the venue.

The comrades roamed around for a while and gave out a lot of leaflets during pleasant conversations with interested visitors. Several people said they wanted to apply for membership and asked for stickers.

The activists then positioned themselves along the main road next the parking area with a banner reading “White workers built this country. White workers can take this country back!”. Scores of drivers happily beeped their car horns, and many motorists and passengers gave the thumbs-up and victory greetings to the Resistance men. There were also a small number of vehicles occupied by peculiar individuals who, for some reason, did not seem to appreciate the Resistance Movement’s presence.

After receiving a very good response from the onlookers in the car procession, the comrades decided to go back to the parking area, where they could converse with newly arrived guests in peace and quiet. Towards the end of the activity, the banner was unfurled again so both the crowds of people and the newcomers could appreciate its revolutionary and highly relevant message.

A little while later, a large oaf came over and grabbed the activists’ banner. This foolishness resulted in a minor scuffle, which was settled relatively quickly. When the comrades rolled out the banner again, several sympathisers approached to show support for the Resistance men, which the activists deemed very honourable.

After another hour had passed, the activists felt satisfied with the day’s undeniably successful activity. The comrades thanked the sympathisers and one another, before heading home. Nest 2 is guaranteed to visit the Power Big Meet car show and similar events in the future.

The Resistance Movement visits Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg

ACTIVISM. The Nordic Resistance Movement held public actions in Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg at the weekend. The activists received positive feedback from the people and were also confronted by political opponents.

Activists and members from the Nordic Resistance Movement held public actions in the Norwegian cities of Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg on the weekend of 26 March.

The comrades first went to Fredrikstad, where they took up positions on the town square with flags and handed out “Take power back from the globalists!” leaflets to people in the vicinity. The good weather ensured there were a lot of people out and about, many of whom accepted leaflets.

The activists received a good deal of positive feedback and had a number of interesting discussions with those who believe society is on a negative path and that something must be done to change direction.

Eventually a couple of political opponents turned up, but they were quickly reprimanded and left the area. No major confrontation occurred in Fredrikstad.

The police also showed up after an hour, acting on an order from Fredrikstad Municipality. The municipality had “misinterpreted” the public leaflet distribution for a demonstration, which would have required an application made in advance. The activists explained this was not the case and reminded the police that, while there is a requirement to give notice in some cases, the municipality has previously stated that dissidents should not have access to a public platform in the city, which contradicts the Norwegian Constitution and the Police Act. The public action in Fredrikstad then continued.

The next destination for the day was Sarpsborg. Just as they had done in Fredrikstad, the activists stood on the square in the middle of the city and handed out leaflets to people in the area.

Here, too, the activists were met with positive feedback, interesting discussions with locals on the street, and confrontation by opponents.

After the public action had proceeded peacefully for a while, a local mob appeared, consisting of a mix of young reds, punks and a woman in her 50s who tried her best to incite her fellow troublemakers with a lot of loud noise.

This didn’t work out the way the reds had hoped, however. The Resistance Movement’s action continued as planned, passers-by just gave the rabble strange looks, and when they came too close or became too aggressive they were confronted and reprimanded.

When the activists felt ready to end the activity, they packed up their things and walked to their cars. Some of the mob followed them into a park, where the Resistance Movement turned round and confronted them, saying, “Crush Nazism, then,” in response to their repetitive slogans. The activists took a step towards the reds, who immediately withdrew.

When the activists resumed the walk back to their cars, one member of the rabble ran up behind them unnoticed and tried to hit one of the activists on the back of the head. The activists spun round and attempted to grab the perpetrator, who ran off as fast as he could in the other direction.

All in all, the day was a clear success and will be repeated in the future.

Wilderness camping in Sweden’s Nest 6

WILDERNESS ACTIVITY. Sweden’s Nest 6 held a wilderness camping trip featuring physical challenges and views of the northern lights.

Northern lights at Snöberget Nature Reserve, northern Sweden

On Saturday 26 March members and activists from Nest 6 defied the cold to spend the night in the forest. A couple of the participants brought their children, who would attempt to spend the night in a tent during winter for the first time.

The goal for the trip was to enter Snöberget Nature Reserve and reach the top of its eponymous mountain. The group brought two sledges containing a large military tent, a stove and lots of firewood. As the sledges had to be pulled by hand, mostly uphill, there were tough challenges in store for those who had to act as draught horses and pull the sledges for the entire hike.

Another trial facing the whole party was the amount of snow, which was relatively low compared to previous years but which still severely limited the mobility and choice of route. To rub salt in the wound, the forces of nature decreed there would be highly changeable weather conditions, with a biting wind being the most recurring phenomenon. Even so, none of this affected the good humour among the comrades, who persevered and trudged through the frozen landscape in high spirits.

As none of the participants had previously visited the area, they were forced to rely on maps to navigate towards their goal. They also had to hike along snowmobile tracks, as walking in deep snow with children in tow while pulling heavy sledges was a practical impossibility. The group found out the area was popular with visitors in the winter and that tracks had already been made in the snow. As such, they believed the mountain could be reached relatively easily; however, this proved to be far from the case.

After locating and hiking along the snowmobile tracks that were believed to lead to the mountain a little way ahead, the participants were faced with lengthy detours and a muddle of disorientating bends that appeared endless. A path would split in two, a direction was chosen and followed for a bit, only for it to become apparent it was a dead end. The group then had to turn on their heels and trudge back the way they had come. When the comrades thought the track was about to lead closer to the mountain, they would crest the next ridge and realise they had been going in completely the wrong direction. This took a heavy toll on the party, but they defiantly continued to walk on until it finally became untenable to continue towards the original destination. A hike that would have been much easier in the summer became a stressful and hopeless task, and a reminder of the power nature has over us.

In the end, a decision was made to camp at a suitable site with some open space, something that was difficult to find in the otherwise dense forest. Now began the next major task of forging paths through the deep snow, followed by hauling the heavy sledges across ditches and through the forest towards the campsite.

Upon their arrival, the comrades started a campfire and filled their empty stomachs with the food they had brought with them. Fed and content, the participants were delegated various tasks. Some had to shovel the snow from the spot where the tent would be raised, while the rest were entrusted with gathering fir twigs to use as insulation against the cold underneath the tent. By the time this was complete, it had already begun to get dark, so the group used the last of their strength to put up the tent and light a fire in the stove, with everyone gathering around it before going to bed.

The temperature dropped drastically during the evening, so the decision was taken to have guards tending to the fire in the stove throughout the night. A schedule was drawn up that divided the responsibility between all the adults. Despite this and despite the stove being refilled with wood the whole night, the cold still intruded, and many lay shivering until the morning.

As a consolation, those watching the fire could go outside the tent and witness one of nature’s most beautiful phenomena in the form of a magnificent display of the northern lights, which danced in green flames across the entire sky and made the night far more tolerable.

In the early morning, the campers got up and made breakfast, which was enjoyed together with pleasant conversations. Shortly thereafter the camp was dismantled and nature was restored to its original state, before the group hiked back to their parked cars. Once there, they said a friendly goodbye to one another, satisfied at having completed a challenge and being richer for the experience.
