Dropouts and traitors

0

RESISTANCE MOVEMENT. National Council member Fredrik Vejdeland explains the differences between dropouts and traitors – with illustrative examples. He also gives instructions to the national movement on how to deal with the latter.

Gallows

In the latest episode of Leadership Perspective, Simon Lindberg and I spoke about defection and betrayal, after Jimmy Thunlind became a police informant and a traitor. This issue was explained further in this article. The subject has since been remarked upon by various nationalists, who have by and large all worked to smoke out this traitor. This is something we both thank and honour them for.

The purpose of this article is to examine what separates a dropout from a traitor, and to give examples of when leaving the Organisation crosses the line into betrayal. When do the dropout’s transgressions become so bad that he not only makes any future position impossible in his own organisation, but also in the national movement as a whole?

Firstly, it should be pointed out that we are very careful when it comes to labelling someone a traitor, and we never do it without solid evidence for the claim. Even if one disapproves of a dropout’s gossiping to other nationalists, he should be careful about calling him something as disparaging as a traitor.

This is the case for several reasons. We do not want to be in a situation in which the concept is inflated and we cannot differentiate the big fish from the small. Throwing out accusations that are not properly thought out, or are said in the heat of the moment, can lead to reduced credibility and other problems for us. We risk inviting anger upon ourselves – which may well be justified – and creating enemies for life.

About dropouts

In this context it should also be clarified, if it were not already apparent, that a dropout does not necessarily qualify as a traitor at all – in fact, it is extremely rare. The Nordic Resistance Movement is a volunteer organisation, through which many have come and gone over the years. Of course, this is something that happens in all other organisations – political and non-political – but perhaps more so in a revolutionary organisation that is subjected to strong external pressure from a repressive system. There have been members who have left after a few weeks or months, after realising the level of repression that comes their way (which we always warn them about beforehand). Conversely, others last for many years.

This is completely natural, and because their places are always filled with new people, I see no major problem with it. Ultimately, it is the collective units – the Organisation that wages the struggle, and the people we fight for – that are important. As long as the struggle for the survival of our people continues, it doesn’t matter if a few individuals come or go. That might sound cynical, but it’s the reality.

The important thing is that the inner core gradually grows and becomes stronger. The inner core comprises the fighters who have shown loyalty through years of trials and have become part of the Organisation’s vital infrastructure. This core has grown and become stronger over time, but it can also be decimated now and then after a split. During the coup attempt in the Organisation in 2019, some people disappeared from this core, but regardless of what they believe, not that many left the core itself, and today their places are filled by others. In other words, we have gone from being in a rebuilding phase to being in a building phase again.

Nordic Resistance Movement - Our honour is loyalty

When someone leaves

When people leave the Organisation, they usually do so as men; that is, in silence and without blaming someone else – and without listing thousands of examples why the Nordic Resistance Movement is so terrible (which they never voiced when they were with us). Quietly and peacefully they go into the Svensson life, for that is unfortunately where almost all of them end up, despite fine words from some about what they will do now that the Organisation no longer hinders them.

So when someone leaves the Organisation, even though it can be sad when it’s someone good, I usually focus on what the individual achieved during his or her time in the Nordic Resistance Movement. How has he or she, through hard work over a period of time, helped the Organisation move forwards? If the person left in the right way, he has points in his favour, and can potentially rejoin at a later occasion, if he so chooses.

Cartoon handshake

It is very important to understand that we don’t go around beating up people who leave the Organisation. This is just as untrue as the system-media’s claim that we beat up people who “refuse to take a leaflet”. What they often “forget” to mention is that those who do not want to take a leaflet sometimes attack an activist physically or psychologically (e.g., by spitting at them), and this leads to their being reprimanded. The reaction to the dropout may change if they act in a way similar to the spitting leaflet-refuser. If the dropout crosses the line and uses his previous insight into the Organisation to conduct a smear campaign against the Organisation and his former comrades, he should not be surprised if people become angry and sometimes physical.

About traitors

It is important to note that even the people described above are not always regarded as traitors, according to our own restrained criteria. They should instead be regarded as ill-disposed quitters. When we talk about traitors, we mean those who have been bought by the system; those who go on morning TV shows and lie about our activities.

People like Jimmy Thunlind are extremely few and far between. However, a similar example is Henrik Holappa and his betrayal in 2016. Holappa appeared in newspapers and on TV, where he demonised the organisation, cooperated with left-wing extremists and wrote a book containing outright lies. What unites Thunlind and Holappa, apart from the flagrant lying, is that they both had insight into the Organisation, even though it was primarily in their respective regions (Nest 8 in Sweden, in Thunlind’s case; and Finland, in Holappa’s).

In between, there has been a Hugo Edlund or two, whose treason has been just as serious, but whose insight into the Organisation’s internal activities has been severely limited.

Traitors are usually used by the system for a limited time. Once they have gotten their five minutes of fame, they tend to be discarded just as quickly – not infrequently because they prove to be complete failures. Anders Högström made it impossible to be a “star defector” when he committed various bizarre thefts. Hugo Edlund started using cocaine, which led to his begging for 700 kronor from the system-media in return for some inside gossip. Henrik Holappa could have been a traitor megastar, but he is not exactly the most interesting person to listen to. I have never had a sensible conversation with that milksop. As for Kim Fredriksson, one might have thought he blew his chances for good when he tortured his partner and threatened to kill her two-year-old daughter, but he still shows up on TV now and then and collaborates with Antifascist Action (AFA).

Jimmy Thunlind
A face that may unfortunately become a common sight in the future

In contrast to the people mentioned above, Jimmy Thunlind is someone the system will want to hold on to for the foreseeable future. I can easily see him sprawling out on a TV4 sofa. Thunlind is skilled at theatrics, and if he can just refrain from drinking, I believe he will hold lucrative lectures at schools and other such venues for a long time to come.

When dropping out turns into treason

With all this said, the only relevant question left is: What qualifies as treason? What in the dropout’s behaviour and actions is it that means NO ONE should have anything to do with him? Below are some examples.

Providing the police and Säpo [the Security Police] with information about former comrades and a former organisation. Both Jimmy Thunlind and Hugo Edlund have done this, according to their own statements. One should remember that the Security Police (which is directly subordinate to the government) and the Police Authorities serve the system, not the citizens or society at large. You are not doing your “social duty”, as Thunlind claims he is doing, when you relay information about the national opposition.

Providing Antifascist Action with information about former comrades and a former organisation. AFA is also part of the system, and their goal is to personally harm nationalists.

Appearing on TV shows and taking the system’s side against the national struggle. By doing this, one becomes part of the propaganda that demonises those fighting against the population replacement and the destruction of our people.

Providing the system with information about why the movement is criminal. Jimmy Thunlind claims that we issued directives to obtain hand grenades and assault rifles, as well as to blow up media buildings. Even though Thunlind’s information is false and cannot be proven, this will become a living truth within the system and will be used as a means to try to further combat the national opposition. Regardless of whether Thunlind’s claims are true or not, he sides with the system in its belief that it should be the only institution permitted to use violence in society.

What the national movement must do

As mentioned in the introduction, several nationalists have acted exceptionally in Thunlind’s case. The AFA informant Pavel Gamov has also recently been smoked out. This is how we must act! Strongly and resolutely – and united!

When treason is discovered, one should take a stand against the traitor, but never, under any circumstances, should the traitor’s side be taken against the organisation in question. It does not matter how much one dislikes an organisation or its representatives; he must never engage in schadenfreude when they are blighted by a traitor. One must go to their defence, or, at the absolute least, avoid the matter entirely.

Since his betrayal, the narcissistic Thunlind has attempted to talk about his “ideological journey” on the podcast Vita pillret (The White Pill) and has contacted his former comrades (who he just sold out to the system) in an attempt to try to find a way back into the community in some way. The door has been shut everywhere.

This resolute action is ultimately the only right and effective approach, as it sends an important signal to dropouts who might consider stepping over the line in the future.

Resistance pays off!

RESISTANCE MOVEMENT. The leader of the Nordic Resistance Movement responds to the government’s decision to remove nearly all Covid-19 restrictions in Sweden and explains one of the reasons why it’s happening.

Nordic Resistance Movement activists with flares at anti-vaccine passport demonstration, Stockholm

So the Covid-19 restrictions are over – for now, at least, because who knows what the future holds?

Whatever the case may be, I know I have already spoken enough about Corona, vaccines and vaccine passports in podcasts, articles and through our actions, and I know that many others are just as tired of talking about it as I am. As such, I will not go over all my thoughts and opinions on the whole subject again in this article; however, there are two completely different issues I want to highlight now that Covid-19 is no longer regarded as a danger to society in Sweden and the restrictions and vaccine passports have been rolled back.

The first issue is how the entire establishment have so quickly and collaboratively done a complete U-turn on this matter. It has only been a few weeks since they screamed to high heaven about how infections were increasing and how terrible and untenable the whole situation was. Just over two weeks ago, new expanded restrictions were brought in, and it has been less than two months since vaccine passports were introduced for the first time in Swedish history.

Then, out of nowhere on 26 January, the Danish government announced they were removing nearly all restrictions. Next, all the media in Sweden suddenly went from peddling near-total fear propaganda about Covid-19, along with censorship of all who were against the restrictions, to suddenly questioning the restrictions themselves in their headlines. On 3 February, the Swedish government followed in the footsteps of their Danish counterparts.

Dagens Nyheter Covid-19 restrictions article
“Debate: Stop viewing Covid-19 as a danger to society” – screenshot from Dagens Nyheter, 28 January 2022

There was no tug-of-war between different parties; instead all the power structure’s mouthpieces were suddenly in agreement out of nowhere, declaring that “the worst pandemic we have ever faced” was under control and the restrictions ought to be removed.

Even though I naturally have a few thoughts of my own about this, I will leave them unspoken for now. Instead I will just point out the absurdity of how quickly the entire establishment turned on a dime and how organised the switchover was, and then I will let you as the reader consider how and why this was. One obvious hint is that it did not happen by accident.

The second point I want to convey – and the main reason for writing this article – is that I am totally convinced that one of the reasons the government is dropping the restrictions is because they truly fear the growing opposition.

On 22 January, around 10,000 people gathered in Stockholm under the slogan “No to vaccine passports!”, while another 3,000 men and women did the same in Gothenburg. These numbers ensured this was one of the biggest political manifestations in Sweden in the 21st century. All at a time when the population is becoming increasingly docile, isolated and unaccustomed to taking to the streets, and when some want to give the impression that it is politically meaningless to conduct this kind of demonstration.

Sergel’s Square, Stockholm, 22 January 2022

It goes without saying that such large protests influence those in power. If 13,000 people defy the winter cold and take to the streets, how many more are there who do not attend but agree with this criticism of the regime and are becoming increasingly radicalised in their distrust of the media and politicians? Certainly tenfold the number that demonstrated, but possibly even a hundredfold.

The regime’s nerves were hardly eased when they saw the Nordic Resistance Movement – a revolutionary National Socialist organisation – in the middle of the protests with banners and leaflets, urging the attendees to get organised for their people and engage in other matters besides vaccine passports – especially as our presence was greatly appreciated.

Nordic Resistance Movement banners at Covid-19 vaccine passports demonstration, Stockholm

If they had kept the vaccine passports and the other restrictions, how many more people would have turned up at the next demonstration? If we look abroad, we can see how hundreds of thousands left the comfort of their homes to protest.

How many of them would have received a positive image of the Resistance Movement and potentially even joined us? This is a dangerous game for the regime, and I am 100% sure that this factor played a part in their decision.

Resistance pays off and street action works!

No to Covid-19 vaccine passports

Now we can only hope that they acted too late. The system has run roughshod over us long enough without anyone other than a few idealists fighting back. Despite the huge differences in resources, these few devoted fighters have surprised the system and even rapped its knuckles a few times over the years. Think about what we could do together with another 13,000, 130,000 or even 1.3 million critics of the system by our side…

If we can stop vaccine passports, we can obviously effect other political changes together. By showing resistance, we can influence the social climate and the circumstances of our lives and those of our descendants. We can also stop immigration through organised resistance. Eventually, we can even regain power over the Nordic countries for the Nordic peoples and truly create a sovereign, secure and flourishing nation!

If everyone who wants to achieve this just stops being defeatist and so damned cowardly and docile… If everyone who actually thinks that our people deserve a better future continues to stand up for the truth and justice and actually gets out on the streets and actively resists… If everyone gets organised in an optimistic force that has an indomitable will and belief, as well as the right tools and the experienced representatives who have proven their loyalty to the people through repeated baptisms of fire… Then there will be no limits to how far we can go together.

We are the future - Nordic Resistance Movement

Vaccine passports are now over, at least for this time, but a thousand other problems still need to be solved. Remember that resistance pays off and that street action works!

ACTIVISM. Spectacular activism, basic activism and trolling actions were conducted in Stockholm, Jönköping and Borlänge on “Holocaust Remembrance Day”.

27 January is the system’s annual campaign day for using lies about the holocaust to brainwash and guilt-trip all White people into believing that the White race and the protection of its interests is the root of all evil in the world.

Activists in the capital chose to conduct activities with a focus on the ongoing holocaust of White people, which – in contrast to the alleged genocide that is claimed to have taken place in incredibly absurd ways at another point in history – is a very real phenomenon.

In the early morning, activists went to Gamla Stan in Stockholm to put up posters on the premises of the Living History Forum – an institution for “holocaust education”. The posters featured an ironic message purporting to be from the Living History Forum, declaring it had been spreading baseless lies about the holocaust for years and was now changing its focus to promote the history and achievements of White people instead.

The police presence was particularly high in the morning, so much so that three patrols devoted their time to searching some of the activists’ cars. While this harassment was underway, the activity at the Living History Forum was taking place just a few hundred metres away.

Satisfied with having carried out part one of the planned activities right under the noses of the system’s lackeys, the activists had to wait a while for part two, as the lackeys insisted on playing cat and mouse with them for an hour.

When the activists were able to resume their planned activities, they put up specially produced banners over bridges and tunnels just in time for the morning rush hour. The banners read “Stop the holocaust of our people”.

Jimmy Thunlind – The fat face of treason

RESISTANCE MOVEMENT. The Resistance Movement comments on the extremely serious act of betrayal committed by Jimmy Thunlind in a newly released documentary series.

Jimmy Thunlind

The streaming service Viaplay recently released a documentary series on “right-wing extremist” groups in the Nordic countries, which focused heavily on the Nordic Resistance Movement. Entitled Omgiven av fiender (Surrounded by Enemies), the series prominently featured the former Resistance Movement member Jimmy Thunlind (now known as Jimmy Marklund).

In the first episode, Thunlind is interviewed as a representative of the Resistance Movement and is positive about the organisation, but in the last episode he defects from the Resistance Movement in front of the cameras and then does his best to counteract and damage the nationalist movement – something he hopes to make a career of in the future, according to his own comments on social media.

Even though Thunlind appears not to have caused any real damage with his actions, his attempts are extremely dangerous and may constitute the biggest public betrayal of the nationalist movement in Sweden in modern times.

In the documentary series, he states that his reason for leaving the Resistance Movement is that the organisation “promotes violence” and that he does not want to participate in obtaining “hand grenades, plastic explosives and assault rifles”. According to Henrik Evertsson, who created the series, Thunlind also said that he and other Nest Chiefs were ordered to blow up various media buildings around the Nordic countries in 2020. Evertsson revealed that this claim was edited out of the production as it sounded “too unlikely”.

This official reason given by Thunlind, wherein he attempts to present himself as a kind-hearted and chivalrous figure who wants to warn the public, differs greatly from the reasons he gave internally, away from the camera lens, and even more so from the real underlying reasons for his defection.

One of the reasons he gave to the leadership of the Nordic Resistance Movement was that he did not approve of a directive he received several months ago, which related to exercising his right to self-defence. This apparently did not sit well with the supposedly pacifist Thunlind, who, shortly after defecting, was publishing images that appeared to “promote violence” on social media.

Jesus with gun
One of the many images spread by the “peaceful” Thunlind after his betrayal

Thunlind also cited serious health problems as a reason; namely, heart failure and leaking cardiac valves – a potentially fatal condition caused by many years of unhealthy living, including periodic alcohol problems.

However, the most important reason of all, according to Thunlind, was that the organisation’s leader, Simon Lindberg, directed some criticism towards him a few days before he left the organisation. This related to a challenging physical activity in Nest 8 that only two people attended. Lindberg said to Thunlind and other Nest Chiefs that it was “particularly unfortunate that Nest 8, which is otherwise incredibly well-functioning and exemplary, did not manage to get more than two people to show up” and wondered if this was the national leadership’s fault, Thunlind’s fault or if it was due to a temporary lack of morale in the Nest, or some other reason entirely.

This made Thunlind hopping mad. The insinuation that this could be his fault, out of several conceivable possibilities, was something he took very seriously.

The fact that Thunlind could not accept any kind of personal criticism was something several other people in the organisation had previously experienced. Anyone who had the slightest personal criticism of Thunlind’s work over the years ran the risk of being regarded as his enemy.

One thing Thunlind never mentioned as a reason, but which very likely contributed strongly to his decision, was his great love of alcohol. After drinking so much that he didn’t turn up to a meeting he himself had organised, and after an activist had to take care of his daughter when he lay unconscious due to alcohol poisoning, Thunlind was given an ultimatum on his drinking.

Alcoholism

He was told he had to choose between being sober for the rest of his life and being excluded from the organisation. Not long after, he resigned, and the very next day after he made this known, several people in the organisation received phone calls from a noticeably intoxicated Thunlind. His craving for the poison was simply too strong – so instead of being kicked out, he chose to leave and come up with other excuses, rather than admitting it was about a longing for alcohol that was so great he sold out the future of his family and his people.

Another aspect of Thunlind’s treachery worth highlighting is that this is not the first time he has acted completely without scruples and has done everything he can to stab his former comrades in the back. In 2003 he appeared on the investigative TV show Uppdrag granskning (Mission: Investigate) as a defected elder of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, speaking about child sexual abuse. Although we agree wholeheartedly that this issue is very important to combat in all contexts, the way he chose to do so was eye-opening. He showed secret documents to the production team and defamed his former brothers and sisters – all to direct attention to his own grandiose personality and attempt to appear to be a better person than he really is.

However, Jimmy Thunlind is not a good person. He is a liar and an alcoholic who clearly has narcissistic personality traits. A man who never hesitates to use lies to defame those to whom he previously pledged allegiance. A snitch who happily provides information to the secret service, knowing it could facilitate harassment of his former comrades. A man who drinks himself unconscious while having sole responsibility for his young daughter. A man who values the spotlight, along with alcohol, more than anything else in the world.

Jimmy Thunlind

So how could this substandard person climb the ranks of the Resistance Movement hierarchy to become a public spokesman for the organisation? We have been in contact with Simon Lindberg to ask some questions about the matter.

How was Thunlind able to become a public representative and Nest Chief for the Resistance Movement?

Well, that’s the big question, and of course it’s easy to be wise in hindsight. It’s also easy for me to say now what others in the national leadership can verify as having been the case for a long time, which is that I never fully trusted Jimmy, and it was with reluctance that I let him become a Nest Chief.

In the vacuum that arose after the coup attempt in 2019, when the then Nest Chief for Thunlind’s Nest disappeared together with the deputy chief, there were not a lot of options to choose from. Thunlind was a capable writer, a decent speaker (although overly theatrical, in my opinion) and in some respects at least he had already demonstrated good leadership qualities. He was also very active and had a lot of time to invest in the organisation.

Combine this with the fact that he exploited the situation like the opportunist he proved to be, together with his ability as an actor, and that’s how things turned out the way they did. Of course, I didn’t know then about all the negative things that have emerged since, such as his previous betrayal of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the extent of his alcohol abuse. It’s also worth noting that he actively tried to prevent competition within the Nest and dismissed the Deputy Nest Chief without having the authority to do so or consulting with people above him in the hierarchy.

Why have the Resistance Movement decided to make such a detailed statement in Thunlind’s case when we do not usually comment on others who leave the organisation?

Because via his participation in the documentary series Surrounded by Enemies and what he wrote on social media and told the secret service, Thunlind has gone “all in” in an attempt to attack the nationalist movement with lies. It becomes even more serious when you consider that he is still pretending to be a part of the movement in some respects. He is trying to have his cake and eat it, but I don’t think he deserves either.

We have never spoken out like this before, but that is because no one has ever engaged in this level of treason so blatantly before. We are also in possession of additional sensitive personal information about Thunlind that has been provided by people close to him, but for various reasons I have not approved this for release, so we have still held back somewhat.

Thunlind is a traitor with a capital T, and I think it is extremely important that people in general understand that. He is an immoral individual, whose interests are not, and presumably never have been, the well-being of our people, but rather to inflate his own ego.

NRM reserved for traitors poster
A “Reserved for traitors” poster in Linköping, possibly put up by Thunlind before he showed his true colours

Do you think we will hear more from Thunlind in the future?

There is a risk of that, yes. This system does not care about honour or truth, but happily promotes a fool like Thunlind and publishes pretty much every word he says without criticism.

Thunlind himself is in his element when he is the centre of attention. However, he should bear in mind that treason has consequences, and every time he defies that mantra, his risk of realising its veracity grows ever greater.

Interview with Resistance Movement member sentenced to prison in political trial

INTERVIEW. A member from Sweden’s Nest 7 is interviewed about his trial and conviction following an incident at a public activity in Vetlanda.

Jonas Jensmark NRM activist

On 27 January, Nest 7 member Jonas Jensmark was sentenced to prison for two months for reprimanding a hysterical and aggressive old woman during a leaflet distribution in Vetlanda last year. Immediately after the incident, the woman lied about what happened in the media and failed to mention that it was actually she who acted violently against political opponents. The Aftonbladet newspaper responded by nominating her for a Swedish Heroes award.

The court chose to believe the woman’s mendacious story, despite the lack of any evidence. Below follows an interview with Jonas about what happened.

Aftonbladet screenshot Inger, Vetlanda
“Inger, 66, struck down by Nazis: ‘It’s important to draw attention to this and speak out’.” Screenshot from Aftonbladet.

Tell us a bit about yourself before we begin. How did you come to join the Resistance Movement?

I have been a nationalist since around the time I began high school. When I started college, I was in a group of about 10 people with similar views who used to hang out together. It was around that time that I became more and more interested in the National Socialist ideology and heard about the Swedish Resistance Movement. I followed the Resistance Movement for almost ten years before I decided to apply to join the organisation in the spring of 2017. I have been a member since then.

What happened in Vetlanda on 20 March last year? Tell us about the day.

Following the terrorist attack in Vetlanda on 3 March last year, we held a number of public leaflet distributions and town square meetings in the town, including one on 20 March. The day began with our arrival at a square in central Vetlanda, where I stood with a flag, while a number of comrades handed out leaflets and spoke with passers-by. The activity was going well, with many rewarding discussions with the people.

After about 30 minutes, a very upset lady appeared and walked directly over to me and told me that we didn’t have the right to be there and that we should leave immediately. I explained to her that we had a legal right to stand there and hand out leaflets. It was then that she realised our cameraman was standing a few metres away filming our conversation, which was when the minor disturbance occurred.

Nordic Resistance Movement activity in Vetlanda

What does the woman say happened, and what really happened?

According to her, she tried to have a discussion with me calmly and sensibly, but claimed that it wasn’t possible, so she turned around and walked away. Then she claims the cameraman pushed his camera into her face. She told him she didn’t want to be filmed and asked nicely if he would stop and delete what he had filmed. When she was not successful in this request, she says she tried to push the camera away and that she hit either the camera or cameraman. She claims she then saw me, out the corner of her eye, drop the flag and charge towards her at full speed, before pushing her to the ground with both hands, giving her a bloody wound.

What really happened was that when she noticed the cameraman standing a few metres away filming our conversation, she demanded he stop and delete the video. We explained to her that we were allowed to film in a public place, and then she walked straight over and began hitting the camera, while the cameraman kept trying to back away from her. She made repeated lunges against both the camera (which is very expensive) and the cameraman.

After this had been going on a while and they were standing in front of me, I decided to step in to make her stop and go away. I took a step towards her and pressed her lightly on her chest. I kept hold of the flag with one hand and tried to stop her with the other. Somehow she slipped and unfortunately fell to the ground, splitting her eyebrow. It bled quite a lot, which made it look much worse than it was. Naturally, I didn’t intend for her to fall to the ground.

What do you have to say about the verdict?

I think the verdict is completely wrong and it’s clear I was convicted due to my political beliefs and for being a member of the Nordic Resistance Movement. The court’s justification is that the woman was subjected to abusive photography by the cameraman and therefore had the right to self-defence, and that I should have understood that she had that right. It is strange that the court believed the crime of abusive photography to have been committed, as no one was investigated or suspected of it. They also believed the woman’s story was corroborated by a witness, even though the witness stated that she didn’t see how the incident started and only saw the end of it. Furthermore, the witness testified that I never let go of the flag and only pushed the woman with one hand, which contradicts the woman’s story.

Are you going to appeal?

I am going to appeal the verdict with the hope that it can be changed and that I will be acquitted completely. As most people know, the district courts are a bit of a lottery and have a large share of politically appointed judges. As such, I believe there is the possibility of a change of verdict in the court of appeal.

How did the woman behave during the trial? Can you describe her personality?

She lied a lot during her testimony, which was proven by the independent witness and to some degree by herself. When my lawyer put questions to her, she argued and said they were not important, including one about whether she had struck the camera or not.

During my testimony, she sat and laughed, grimaced and gesticulated, which prompted my lawyer to interject and tell her to behave herself properly. She wanted to argue about that as well, but the judge also told her to stop it, which she finally did.

As far as I understand her, she likes to get attention and be in the spotlight, which she achieved after the incident, as she was featured on TV and in the newspapers. It should also be mentioned that she claims to be in favour of freedom of speech, but not for political dissidents.
